November 2017 Main Challenge
OUTDOORS & WOODGRAIN

It's November already and time for a new Main Challenge!

Whether you're right in the middle of Autumn or Spring,
you no doubt enjoy spending as much time outside as possible
to take in Nature's beautiful scenes and plenty of of fresh air.

Well, that means that you will also enjoy this challenge...

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Make sure to carefully read our instructions below.

Word Inspiration - OUTDOORS
Creative Challenge - WOODGRAIN

What does the word WOODGRAIN inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since, as you are aware, words
are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know
how this month's word stimulated your creative process,
so please do explain in your blog post how it inspired you!

One of the many scrapbooking trends of the past couple years
that doesn't seem to get old is WOODGRAIN patterns.
We thought that it would go perfectly with our word
inspiration this month. So, whether you use patterned paper,
a stamp, a stencil or the real thing, it doesn't matter.
Show us your woodgrain!

VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT MTW RULES!
To be eligible to win, you have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge,
the word inspiration and the creative challenge.
Just look at our designers' projects and descriptions as examples.

You must also include our board image as well as a link to our blog in your entry post.  AND you may combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our amazing DT have come up with
to showcase this month's word and incorporate the creative challenge!

Mary: The word OUTDOORS inspired me to scrap with a romantic photo by the sea. For the creative challenge, I used a WOODGRAIN patterned paper
and some wooden embellishments.

TORSA SAHA
Torsa: Inspired by the word, I have used an OUTDOORS picture of the beautiful season of Autumn. For the WOODGRAIN creative challenge, I have used paper with a wooden texture as well as some wooden embellishments.

Aga: Today I share with you an art journal page whose background I have painted in a WOODGRAIN pattern with my watercolours to match the creative challenge. The word OUTDOORS made me think of how human beings were created to travel, discover and learn by experiences through his or her whole life. It is our destination. A walk can be around the park or around the world... or whichever way it may lead you. You don't need eyes to see, you don't need vision.

Di: This month's challenge inspired me to scrap these photos of my grandson playing OUTDOORS on some play equipment. I just loved these pics of him playing that I couldn't decide which one to use, so I used them all. I have inserted some brown WOODGRAIN paper in behind the photos which
I think makes a nice contrast on my layout.

KAVITHA
Kavitha: The beach is my most favourite OUTDOORS spot so I made a tropical beachy layout. I used WOODGRAIN patterned paper as part
of my background for the creative challenge.

LILIBLEU
Lilibleu: Inspired by the OUTDOORS, I used a photo of my son, then aged 5, who climbed for the first time a playground in the trees. For the WOODGRAIN creative challenge, I used this very nice wood patterned paper with its slightly time-worn aspect and its green touches which inspired the overall colour and theme of my page.

NICOLE DOIRON
Nicole: My favourite season to spend OUTDOORS is the Fall. This couple selfie was taken in October a couple years ago during a beautiful stroll on our hometown ocean boardwalk in the crisp cool Autumn air. Along with many elements inspired by the outdoors like trees, branches nest and birds, I used a beautiful WOODGRAIN background to respect the creative challenge. If you look really closely, you can even see some woodgrain pattern on a badge used behind my little tree.

Caroline: Fall is the greatest season to have OUTDOOR walks to see the gorgeous colours that Mother Nature brings to our eyes! For the creative challenge WOODGRAIN, I chose a lovely wood paper background as well
as wood leaves and a woodgrain looking badge.

HEATHER MCMAHON
Heather: It's always fun to explore OUTDOORS. You never know what you're going to find! One day, I saw this grumpy cat sitting outdoors on a balcony, scowling at everyone. It was so funny! I used a WOODGRAIN paper behind the photo and you can see the woodgrain of the balcony railings in the photo itself.

PAMELA ELLIS
Pamela: One of the many things I share with my grandchildren is a love for the OUTDOORS no matter what the season is. My sweet granddaughter Emily enjoyed a fall romp in the leaves here. For the WOODGRAIN element, I chose
a background paper that looks like wood.

VALERIE OUELLET
Valerie: I used a picture of my daughter playing outside. We love outdoors activities! I created my layout on a soft WOODGRAIN pattern that I love.

Anguree: I loved creating on WOODGRAIN and this design from an old Riddersholm collection inspired me to use this photo of a gorgeous friend and I. The woodgrain was perfect for our photo against the tree trunk. We spent a beautiful afternoon OUTDOORS and having fun doing a friendship shoot to celebrate our friendship.

ELENA MARTYNOVA
Elena: I am very glad that I have my own garden. There, I can do OUTDOORS pictures like this one with my daughter. You can see our gorgeous wood fence behind her. I used a piece of WOODGRAIN paper that matches it perfectly.

HEIKE'S AUGENBLICK
Heike: The word OUTDOORS inspired me to make a minimalistic layout with the theme from my second hobby, gardening. I found a WOODGRAIN paper which was perfect for the November creative challenge.

Janice: We love the great OUTDOORS, especially Summertime and going to the beach. A walk up the jetty at picturesque Tumby Bay is a must! I have used a WOODGRAIN patterned paper which matches the colours of the jetty planks.
